Just a couple doodles of my character, Aderyn. Her design used to be a lot simpler, but I decided she needed a revamp. Now her design is very… steampunk-esque. xD

Lol, that first one is supposed to be one of my friends who happened to come across me as I was drawing at Starbucks. It does not look like her at all. My favorite is the third one.

Sketchbook Stuff

Sorry about not updating that much since school ended. Been on a bit of a creative rut; haven’t been able to work on much other than stickers. (update soon on stickers, anyway)

But here, have some environment studies. For those first two, I drew in Starbucks, each taking about two hours each. I basically started at one end of my page and worked across it, little by little, regardless of whether someone in my environment moved or left. That being said, all those people there were not there at the same time. On the left side of the last spread was this dude sitting in front of me at the library, and the right are just hands. Oh, I also went figure drawing, but I’m too lazy to take those out to take pictures of them.

Just some doodles. I’ve been weary of starting a new piece since I start school next week, so I drew these. Maybe if I have time someday, I’ll finish these up and add a bit of color. :)

A sketch for a new piece that I just threw together in the last half hour. :) I like this a lot; it’s been a while since a sketch flowed out so well.

Here’s a sketch of my cousin last week during Christmas. I drew something tonight too, but it didn’t turn out very nice because my family kept moving while I drew them. D: I should practice speed sketching next time~

Oh, and happy new year everyone!

I decided to start a new sketchbook over Winter Break to practice working from life and composition, since it’s going to be a big part of getting into the A/I program at school. To make it more fun, I’m making Ashley and Hogan do this with me too with their own sketchbooks! Of course, there’s a catch: with any page in the sketchbook that seems to have been made up and not from life, they owe the other two a quarter each.

Here’s my first page. I like birds. I like doing studies. BAM! Bird studies.
